Transitional Accommodation

NWS offers Transitional Accommodation, a safe, supportive environment for women and their children as they move from emergency accommodation to stable housing. This program provides ongoing wrap around support for women and their children who face challenges finding secure, affordable housing after leaving the shelter.
A dedicated Support Advocate works with each woman to provide holistic and culturally responsive case management. Women are supported to explore education, employment, and community connections, and to engage in programs that promote healing, recovery, and achieving personal and family goals.

Transitional Accommodation support includes:

Risk assessments and develop personalised safety plans
Access to information, resources, and court support
Advocacy and referrals to specialised services
Support to explore long-term affordable housing options
Womens and children's workshops, groups, and programs both at NWS and within the community
Our goal is to provide a culturally safe place where women and their children receive holistic support to rebuild stability, confidence, and independence.
